Newropeans vis-à-vis the global crisis: European Socio-political Alert N°1 (11/12/2008)
Finally there is concern about this “crisis after crisis” that Europe knows today. “The threat indeed weighs on democracies across Europe, where several countries are experiencing a paradox: economic indicators give cause for optimism, but unemployment and poverty exhaust each day a little more their populations” (lyonne.fr 12/12/2013). “Then,” asks the media: “should we expect a popular uprising in Europe?” … In December 2008 Newropeans published different “European social political alerts” publicizing its political recommendations to member states calling them to avoid at all costs the transformation of the economic crisis into a major social crisis in order to be prepared to face the unemployment explosion… Still relevant. We republish here this first recommendation / alert.

The outcome of the Italian elections has shown once more that in order to be successful in the long run Euroland needs its own elections and institutions. The European citizens’ movement Newropeans therefore demands once again that Euroland receives a democratically elected parliament of its own, which elects and controls a Euroland government. The responsibility for the single currency then would be at a common structure and so independent from national turbulences.
Tous ceux qui oeuvrent dans ce domaine savent ce que les termes “subventions européennes” ou “label européen” cachent: une main mise certaine, un droit de regard, de la Commission européenne sur vos projets, travaux -ce qui en somme est logique, elle ne va pas subventionner des projets qui vont à l’encontre de ses idées, visions, valeurs…- et donc une bride sur le principe d’indépendance du média et des journalistes.

Indignés devant tant de culot des Américains. ECHELON était un réseau de surveillance mondiale qui déjà à l’époque pouvait écouter, surveiller des milliards d’appels téléphoniques, de fax et de e-mails à travers le monde. D’ailleurs, le premier rapport public sur ECHELON avait été publié en 1988 par le journaliste Duncan Campbell.
